RICHLAND, Wash. -- If you plan to drive through Richland on George Washington Way July 21-23rd weekend, expect some detours and delays. Parts of George Washington Way will be closed starting Friday afternoon at 2:00pm.
The closure begins at the intersection of Jadwin Avenue and GW Way, and stretches all the way to the Knight Street intersection. The Lee Boulevard intersection will also be closed, but businesses in that area will still be accessible.
The City of Richland is hoping to complete the work before Monday morning."We did pick a weekend and it's a Hanford Friday off. And we chose to wait until 2:00pm on Friday so the farmers market can finish up and clear out of the area,"says Julie Nelson, the project engineer with the City of Richland.
Traffic will be detoured onto Jadwin Avenue, and then re-connect with George Washington Way at Knight Street. The Parkway will also be open to vehicles.
