RICHLAND, Wash.-- The 6th annual Gay Pride Festival took place in the Tri-Cities Saturday. The festivities were held at John Dam Plaza in Richland.
Organizers say it's the biggest turn out they've ever had and they saw more young people there than ever before. Vista Youth Center started the Tri-Cities Gay Pride in 2007. This year's theme is It's All About Family.
Mark Lee, Vista Youth Center Executive Director, says this year's theme is fitting to the times.
"We're part of the community as family and family is who we are. And this year especially with referendum 74. We want to remind people that love is what matters and family is what matters," says Lee.
Sunday morning the weekend's events will conclude with a brunch at Uptown Deli in Richland.
