Fallen veterans remember at local VFW

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash.-- Yakima's Veterans of Foreign Wars held a remembrance ceremony Tuesday for local vets who recently passed away.

VFW Post 379 and the Washington Army National Guard team up for the ceremony four times a year to honor those who served our country.

Members read the names of 53 veterans from Yakima, Sunnyside, and Zillah.

"We're just trying to honor these veterans for their service. It's quite important to everybody here in this post because we are all members of the military," said Ike Staley.

A bell was rung for each name and full military honors, including a gun salute, were completed to honor the fallen.
