Lamb Weston sponsorship makes Water Follies all it can be

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.-- As the title sponsor Lamb Weston contributes big bucks to make sure each part of what we enjoy about Water Follies can be included. Without them some parts could be cut and tickets could cost you more.

People love the water follies. They keep coming back for more each year, but if it weren't for the title sponsor, Lamb Weston, it might not be everything we look forward to. Howard Schaller, Lamb Weston spokesman, says they were happy to become sponsors.

"One of the primary sponsors walked away from the Water Follies and Lamb Weston saw it as an opportunity to thank the community and thank our employees that are so important to us in this area," says Schaller.

Water Follies spokesman, Craig Marcum, says they're essential to making the event all that it can be.

"There's no way that we could really have this event be what it is without a company like Lamb Weston that is really there to support us, both financially and just with the community," says Marcum.

Thanks to Lamb Weston's support, Water Follies staff don't have to cut the extras and can have vintage boats and a longer air show. Their contribution keeps ticket prices where they are so more can enjoy the event.

"The cost for a family to come down here is reasonable. There's a lot of things associated with that and trying to make this something that parents can bring their kids out to and the whole family can really enjoy. I don't know if we would be able to offer that same type of thing to families had we not had the financial support and the community support," says Marcum.

This event is what Tri-Cities summers are made of.

"It's a beautiful venue, you're out here on the Columbia River, hydroplane boats going by, the air show. It's just a really fun event," says Marcum.
