Naches, WASH.--Flying H. Youth Ranch celebrated its 50th anniversary Saturday.

Flying H. is a Christian program for young boys who are struggling with home life.

The program based in Naches was established in 1962. Since then it has served over 2,000 boys and their families.

Young boys aged 13-17 are sent to the program for different reasons, ranging from problems with drugs and alcohol or issues with authority.

Men that graduated from the program said they were profoundly changed by their experiences at the ranch. Brian Wilton said when his mom dropped him off at Flying H. three years ago he was angry, but now, he's happy to be back.

"It's meant everything to me," Wilton said. "It's been a life changer. When I walked through the door, I was just rebelling the whole thing at first, but the more you just accept all the change that can happen out of this place."

The boys are sent to the ranch for 18 months. They are each given a mentor to help them with chores and teach them lessons from the bible. Mentors, older participants and current participants were all in attendance.
