Still no drinking water for hundreds of Weston residents

Posted: Updated:

WESTON, Ore. - It could still be days before 300 people in Weston, Oregon have their regular drinking water.

Weston's Mayor says a leaking pipe caused a mudslide on Saturday, which forced the city to shut off service for repairs.

On Tuesday crews from Pioneer Construction, based out of Pendleton, replaced the broken pipe, but even if they turn the water back on, the water has to go through testing before it's drinkable.

Right now the city is still offering free showers and drinking water in the city park for everyone effected.

City officials say if everything goes as planned and on schedule, clean water could be restored by Thursday.
