Ellensburg police raising money for Special Olympics

Posted: Updated:

ELLENSBURG, Wash.-- The Ellensburg Police Department is teaming up with Fred Meyer for a 24-hour fundraiser.

Captain Dan Hansberry will be spending the night on top of the Fred Meyer in Ellensburg to raise money for the Special Olympics.

He says the community has always come out to support the Special Olympics over the years, and he's confident this year will be no different.

"The community came out in huge crowds and really supported the event. And so we know that that support is there and that's why we want to keep something going, is to keep that community support for Special Olympic," said Capt. Hansberry.

He's stationed on the roof now and will stay there until noon Friday. So stop by and say hello, and help support the Special Olympics.
