Both Hands volunteer project helps Pasco widow

PASCO, Wash.-- Volunteers came together Saturday in Pasco to help fix up a widow's home through a program called Both Hands.

The foundation helps widows with home improvement projects and also raises funds for orphans. Volunteers did lots of yard work, removing trees and trimming them up. New concrete was put in outside, and inside all the faucets were replaced.

Volunteer, Janice Walker says, there was a lot of community support.

"When we started this project we felt like it was going to be a struggle and maybe a very small scale. Going to local suppliers was humbling. It was overwhelming how eager people were to step up. They wanted to be a part of it. I became a community effort," says Walker.

All the professional labor and the supplies were donated. All the money raised will go to the Walker family's adoption of two boys from China.
