YAKIMA, Wash.-- The City of Yakima wants to know what citizens think about their community.
The city is starting an online citizen survey this month that will ask basic, overall questions about living and working in the Yakima area, their sense of community, and housing options.
Last month, they mailed a written version of the survey to three thousand households.
It's part of their plan to better adapt their services to what their citizens want.
"It's very important to understand the voice of the community and this instrument, either online or the paper survey which was mailed... Will be very important to the city," says Yakima City Manager Tony O'Rourke.
O'Rourke says he hopes to conduct one of these surveys every year. The online survey will be open until August 31st. You can find the English version here, and the Spanish version here.
