CHELAN, Wash. – Firefighters say they're confident a wildfire won't reach the homes and the state park near Alta Lake.
Fire managers say crews have finished building a firebreak that will contain the fire that has burned about ten square miles north of Chelan.
Fire managers say by noon Wednesday they hope to lift the "Get-ready-to-evacuate" warning for about 50 families in the Alta Lake area.
Park rangers also expect to reopen Alta Lake State Park on Thursday.
More than 300 firefighters have been building lines since the fire broke out Sunday in grass, brush and light timber. No structures burned.
