Police uncover three stolen cars at Granger chop shop
GRANGER, Wash. - Sunnyside Police have arrested 18-year-old Adan R. Villa on 1st degree theft charges related to stolen cars.
Around 4 PM on Thursday, August 9th, police searched what officers believe was a Chop Shop in Granger. Police say they got new information relating to a car theft out of Sunnyside that happened on August 5th, which prompted the search.
When they went inside the residence on the 300 block of East A Street, they found the remains of three stolen vehicles, along with more than 180 grams of narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
Officers say one of the vehicles was stolen out of Sunnyside, one was stolen out of Yakima, and one was stolen out of Toppenish. The recovered stolen cars had been disassembled.
Police originally arrested Villa on outstanding warrant charges, and later held him on the car theft charges. Officers believe there was one other person working with Villa but haven't made a 2nd arrest.
