Pasco Sikh temple prays at Sunday service for shooting victims

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash.-- Sunday marks one week since the deadly Sikh temple shooting in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. Members of the Sikh temple in Pasco gathered for their first Sunday service since they found out about the shooting.

This Sunday's service has a different tone as Sikh members took time to mourn the loss of the six worshippers killed in the shooting by a white supremacist gunman. Sikh members say their religion believes in humanity and everyone as equals. One member, Tarlock Singh Hundall, says they are looking for peace after this tragic incident.

"It is a special day for us to remember and mourn the victims of the Oak Creek Gurdwara. We do assemble here every Sunday, but today we're paying a special homage to them," says Hundall.

The Sikh temple members say they're praying for the souls of the victims and recovery of the injured.

Saturday night the Pasco temple held a candle light vigil for the victims of the shooting and say they are talking about having another one in the near future.
