CLE ELUM, Wash. - KNDO now has a reporter near the scene of a group of fires burning between Cle Elum and Ellensburg. A spokesperson says the fires add up to about 800 acres and stretch through a valley for about 12 miles. It all started around 2:00 pm Monday near the intersection of Highway 10 and Taylor Road. We're told several homes have been lost, the first count was three but the spokesperson said it's probably more. No word on any injuries. Level 2 evacuation orders are in effect which means people in the area are being asked to leave their homes, but are not being forced out. Firefighters are going door to door warning people in five areas: Lookout Mountain, Hidden Valley, Swauk Valley, Ellensburg Ranch and Bettas Road. An evacuation center is set up at Centennial Center in Cle Elum, but animals are being taken to the Kittitas County Fairgrounds in Ellensburg.
