Wildfire Blazing Through Kittitas County

UPDATE: Kittitas County Sheriff's Office says the Taylor Bridge Wildfire is still 0% contained out near Cle Elum. About 25 structures have been lost and the size of the fire is in excess of 10,000 acres. But there have been no injuries reported yet.

NEAR CLE ELUM, Wash. -- Kittitas Country Fire District 7 is reporting that at least 2 dozen structures have been lost in the fire burning near Cle Elum. Additional evacuation areas include; Smithson and Reecer Creek Rd, Hayward Rd, Upper Lambert Rd, Sun East, and the east end of fire on HWY 10.

The fire is 0% contained as of now and evacuation orders in place for many residents in the areas Bettas and Swauk Vallies, Teanaway, and homes west of State Route 97 near Green Canyon and Upper Reecer Creek.

County Commissioners have declared a state of emergency, so state resources have been called in to fight this blaze. 

The cause is not yet known, but crews say the fire started near highway ten and taylor road, just outside of town.
