WALLA WALLA, Wash.- Walla Walla Regional Airport is receiving a $250,000 grant to increase travelers.
Senator Maria Cantwell announced today, the airport will get the money from a Small Community Air Service Development Grant.
An additional $50,000 will come from the local community.
The grant will help promote and preserve local commercial air service in Walla Walla Valley.
The airport only serves one airline, Alaska Airlines, which need a certain number of passengers each year to stay viable.
