REACH Center gets a new construction manager

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND, Wash.-- The Hanford Reach Interpretive Center is making several changes to get the museum's construction off the ground and they're getting some help from the business community.

The REACH project announced Monday night the new member to their team, construction manager John Koberg, who will use his expertise to help move things in the right direction. Lockheed Martin MSA is providing the construction manager for free.

The Richland PFD board is ramping up their efforts to get things done. They want to break ground early next year. To do so, they're going to follow a design/build plan and need someone to coordinate that effort. Koberg is their man and he's ready to put his ideas to work.

"This is a new step forward. I've been involved in design/build projects before. I have experience in it. We've got some ideas that should accelerate this project for early conclusion," says Koberg.

The first step for Koberg will be organizing the rebidding for phase one, which involves the building site's infrastructure.

The board is currently meeting every Monday to keep on track.
