Armed Robbery in Finley

Posted: Updated:

FINLEY, Wash. - The Benton County Sheriff's Office just released information about an armed robbery in Finley early this morning.  Here's a copy of what they put out:

On August 15, 2012 at about 12:30 am, a light skin Black or Hispanic male entered the Finley Truck Stop wearing gloves, a mask, blue hooded sweat shirt, black shorts w/red stripe, and flip flops.  The suspect walked around the counter, pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded money and cigarettes. The clerk bagged the items and the suspect left the store on foot.

Area containment was established with the assistance of officers from the Kennewick Police Department and Washington State Patrol.  A K9 Team attempted to track the suspect from the store, but the trail ended a short distance down highway 397, where it is believed the suspect left in a vehicle.

A suspicious vehicle was seen in the area at the time and may be involved in the robbery.  The vehicle was described as a dark colored, four-door, passenger car with chrome wheels; possibly a late 90's Honda.

If anyone has information that may be of assistance to the Sheriff's Office regarding the robbery they can contact the Benton County Sheriff's Office Detectives Division at (509) 735-6555 or after business hours by calling the non-emergency number for dispatch at (509) 628-0333.
