Air Quality Levels Can Quickly Change

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.,  -- Yesterday we reported about an air quality alert in Benton, Yakima, and Kittitas counties. Today those levels have gone down in Benton and Yakima counties. But clean air agencies still recommend staying current on air quality levels because they can change quickly.

"They can change in a minute because the wind could change it could bring more smoke down from the fire near Ellensburg," said Robin Priddy. "And we could also, it's high fire season here, we could also have a fire at any moment here that people should be paying attention to the air quality."

Air quality levels are still unhealthy in Kittitas county, but clean air agencies recommend ALL residents limit their exposure to outside air, even if they don't have sensitivity issues. Visit the News Links section of our website for a link to stay current on air quality levels.
