KENNEWICK, Wash. - Kennewick Police are looking for the man who robbed a Minit Mart in Kennewick late Monday night. Officers say the man was masked and wearing a knife on his belt when he went in the store at 1400 West 27th Avenue and demanded money from the cash register.
Police say he showed the clerk his weapon. Employees at the store say the clerk managed to scare the man off and he ran off empty handed.
"The knife was never pulled out, but it was displayed. And if a weapon is displayed in the course of a robbery, it becomes an armed robbery," says Kennewick Police Sergeant Ken Lattin.
Officers describe the man as white, 5'10" tall, about 220 lbs. He was last seen wearing a light colored baseball cap, a gray t-shirt, and black pants. Police weren't sure about the man's age. If you have information please contact Kennewick Police or call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 586-TIPS (8477) or 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
