PENDLETON, Ore. (AP) - Pendleton has a new director of tourism promotion.
The Travel Pendleton committee has named Bobi Sampson to replace Yolanda Lennon.
Sampson took the position under the new title of event planner. She will work with the Convention Center, the Round-Up Grounds, and other local venues to attract business to rent their spaces for events.
Sampson says she will sell venues to all group sizes, but her focus will be on those that can bring at least 1,000 attendees.
Travel Pendleton is funded by the city's Tourism Promotion Assessment Charge, which collects $1.50 per hotel bed and 50 cents per motor home.
