Questions raised about future of aquatics center

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash. -- Plans for a new aquatics center in the Tri-Cities are now on hold, at best.

On Wednesday, Franklin County Commissioners decided they don't want to sell the TRAC to the City of Pasco.

That throws a wrench in plan to convert the facility into a water park. Some parents we talked to say it would be nice to have a water park option ion the Tri-Cities. "With all the growth that we have, everything now that's popping up, I think a water park would be great," says mother of two Amy Rocha.

The Regional Public Facilities board will meet September 12th with the Pasco Public Facilities board to discuss alternative locations for an aquatic center.
