No such thing as a rebuilding year at Kamiakin

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- It is hard to find a local football team as dominant over the last few years as the Kamiakin Braves. The Tacoma News Tribune has the red and gold ranked 6thin the 3A preseason state poll. Last year the Braves went all the way to the state title game and lost to Bellevue. The Braves say there is no such thing as a rebuilding year at Kamiakin despite losing some key position players.

"We do what we do every year. We don't look at it as hey we can only do this or we can only do that. We're continuing with what we've done last year and the year before and hopefully adding on to what we've accomplished in the past. So we're definitely not looking at it as a rebuilding year," said Scott Biglin, Kamiakin head coach.

"You know everybody always says we lost a lot of guys but I feel like they're going to be surprised you know. We're not going to blow away teams like we have with the talent with Tim White two years ago and the talent last year, but I feel like we'll still be a team to compete with," said K Perrins, senior wide receiver/cornerback.
