Back to School Rally in Pasco draws thousands

PASCO, Wash.-- Thousands came out Saturday to the Back to School Rally at the World Life Christian Center in Pasco.

Over the summer the church gathered donations of school supplies and Saturday they handed out two thousand bags to children. The event also offered free haircuts and books.

Church pastor, Meredith Zamora, says this is the first year of the event and the church is happy it's such a success.

"Just making a difference in the community as a church I we're here to reach out and make a difference and make things better for people. That was our attempt today. That's our hope. Hopefully we can help families take some pressure off," says Zamora.

The event not only provided school supplies, but also fun. There was a bouncy house for kids to play in and many booths to visit.
