Police looking for woman in burglary/assault investigation

Posted: Updated:

SUNNYSIDE, Wash.-- Sunnyside Police are looking for 42-year-old Mickie Flores as part of a residential burglary/assault investigation.

Police say they got a call from 60-year-old Michael Reynolds just before 3:30 this morning. They say he was hiding in his house with a sword after hearing people outside. Reynolds told police a man and a woman came in to his home and he cut the woman on the shoulder with the sword. Police say he identified the woman as Flores. Police say Flores and the unidentified man then ran out of the house and took off in a pickup.

Police say there was also a disturbance yesterday at the same house. They arrested Reynolds yesterday for fourth degree assault after neighbors reported seeing him with a machete. Police say he used it to chase Flores off his property.

Reynolds told police he and Flores are not in a domestic relationship.

Detectives are looking for Flores, they say they're concerned about the cut on her shoulder. They say she did not go to any local hospitals for treatment.

If you have any information, contact the Sunnyside Police Department.
