Sunnyside police search for woman sliced by swordPosted: Updated:
Sunnyside, WASH.--Sunnyside police are searching for a woman who was sliced by a sword early Tuesday morning.
This is the same woman who was chased by a man with a machete on Monday afternoon.
On Monday, neighbors told investigators they saw 60-year old Michael Reynolds waving a weapon at Flores.
Reynolds was arrested for fourth degree assault but was released later that night after he secured bail.
Police said Reynolds hired Flores and another man to do yard work over the weekend.
Reynolds told police the two ripped him off, and that's when he became angry and brought out the machete.
Police said Flores returned to Reynolds home around 3 a.m. Tuesday and tried to re-enter, but Reynolds was there with a sword and struck her on the shoulder.
"We're concerned about the injury to her that's our primary thing," said Sgt. John Chumley of the Sunnyside Police Department. "We'd like to find out if she's okay, and then obviously we would like to talk to her about the events that took place."
Police said it's possible Flores and her partner thought Reynolds would still be in jail from the previous incident, and they went to commit a burglary.
Police said Flores' family members have not heard from her, and she has no record of checking into any local hospital.
Police said there was a small amount of blood leading from Reynolds home to the driveway.
