Sunnyside Police find woman cut with sword

Posted: Updated:

SUNNYSIDE, Wash.-- Sunnyside Police have found the woman cut with a sword early Tuesday morning.

Detectives located Mickie Flores in Sunnyside on Tuesday afternoon. After giving a statement to police, she was treated for a cut on her chin and released from the hospital.

Police say Flores was injured yesterday when she and another man entered the home of Michael Reynolds. Reynolds called police when he heard them outside and cut Flores with a sword when she came in. She and the unidentified man drove off afterward.

Reynolds and Flores also had a run-in the day before that. Neighbors saw Reynolds waving a machete at Flores. The police were called in and Reynolds was arrested for fourth degree assault. Police say he brought out the weapon because he thought Flores had ripped him off.

Police haven't filed charges against anyone involved and will review the case with the Yakima County Prosecutors Office today.

If you have any information on this case, call the Sunnyside Police Department.
