Local GOP delegates sum up Tampa convention

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Thursday Is the final night of the Republican National Convention in Tampa. Six of the delegates there are representing the 4th Congressional District. The group consisted of Laurel Young- an alternate Delegate from Yakima, Megan Landon - an alternate Delegate from Richland, Brenda High an alternate Delegate from Pasco and three delegates... David Hedengren, Delegate from Richland, Stephanie Swanberg, Delegate from Pasco Helen LaVoie, Alternate at large from Richland. Doug Gale, a delegate from Benton City, was unable to attend.

"One thing I really enjoyed not seeing was Hurricane Isaac. But as far as the convention, I was most impressed with Anne Romney's Speech and then Paul Ryan's Speech," says Hedengren.

Stephanie Swanberg and Brenda High both agreed Anne Romney was their favorite speaker at the three day event. Swanberg calling her a "class act," while High referred to Romney as a "real woman."

The delegates also expressed their expectations of Mitt Romney's expectance speech. Hedengren who co-chairs his campaign for the 4th district says he hopes the speech will paint a picture of what we need in this country. "All of us know people who are looking for a job and don't have one. Kids are coming out of school aren't able to find jobs so its just getting the economy restarted," he says.

Thursday's convention theme is "We Believe In America." where Mitt Romney will formally accepts his nomination as the Republican nominee to run against President Obama. It airs at 7:00pm on NBC.
