YAKIMA, Wash.-- Olive Garden restaurants in the Tri-Cities and Yakima paid tribute to the men and women who serve and protect our communities today.

Olive Garden employees delivered hot meals to local police and fire stations as well as hospital emergency rooms.

In Yakima, the restaurant brought food in for local police departments and the county sheriff's office.

Employees say they're honored that olive garden recognized their contributions to the community.

"I think it's just great, the way that a local business like that can support law enforcement and show their appreciation," says Stu Graham with the Yakima County Sheriff's Office.

More than 700 Olive Garden restaurants across the nation participated.

This is the 11th year that Olive Garden has donated lunches to community members.
