Pacific Power taking donations to help people pay electric bills

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash.-- A program from Pacific Power in Yakima is raising thousands of dollars to help people pay their electricity bills.

So far, the Project Help program has brought in $55,000 over the past year. That money went to help nearly 900 people across the Yakima Valley.

Donations were collected every month with the electricity bill from customers, Pacific power employees, and shareholders.

The program is a partnership between Pacific Power and both the Salvation Army and Northwest Community Action Center.

You can still help donate. You'll need to enroll with the company and decide on the amount you want to give each month. Donations can be as low as a dollar.

To sign up for the program or to get help with your energy bills you can call Pacific Power at 888-221-7070.
