Interfaith vigil in Pasco

PASCO, Wash. - Tragedy can sometimes bring about a greater good. Just over a month ago a man opened fire in a Wisconsin house of worship. Seven people, including the gunman, were killed August 5th at that Sikh Temple.

Now, one month later Tri-Cities residents, of all faiths and beliefs, are coming together at Volunteer Park for an interfaith vigil for peach and non-violence.

"We too often see things on how different we are and we have much in common," said First Lutheran Church Pastor John Hergert. "We wanted to come together."

"I think it's a good beginning to do that," said Sikh member Tarlok Singh Hundal. "So we hope that we will continue doing that and we hope that we don't have to do it because of the violent acts of an individual."

The vigil is Thursday at 7 o'clock at Volunteer Park in Pasco.
