McKenna stops in Yakima to talk jobs and education

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash.-- Republican gubernatorial candidate Rob McKenna stopped in Yakima Thursday to speak at the Downtown Yakima Rotary luncheon.

His democratic opponent, Jay Inslee, spoke to the Rotary at last week's luncheon.

McKenna talked about job creation and how to get the public school system back on track. He says tax reform is needed to make creating jobs a lot easier.

"The only way we're going to get out of high unemployment is by making it easier for businesses, companies, to create jobs. And unfortunately, we're one of the most expensive states in America for running a company and employing people," he said.

McKenna and Inslee will square off in another debate on October 2nd in Yakima.

We'll share more details on that debate as soon as we get them.
