WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- Two Walla Walla Police Officers were assaulted last night after responding to a disturbance call in the 500 block of West Alder.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that probable cause existed for the arrest of Dewey G. Cleveland, 35, Walla Walla, for 3 counts of 4th Degree Assault (Domestic Violence).

While taking Cleveland into custody, a 14 year old attacked the arresting officer, striking him in the face. The juvenile continued to fight, kicking at the officer. The juvenile was taken into custody for 3rd Degree Assault—Police Officer.

Cleveland resisted arrest, kicking and scratching another officer. He also made threats to the officer, saying he was going to come after the officer when he gets out of jail and yelling racial slurs. He was finally subdued after the officer deployed his taser.

Neither officer suffered serious injuries.

Cleveland is being held on additional charges of 3rd Degree Assault—Police Officer and Malicious Harassment.
