5k race raises money for Taylor Bridge Fire victims

RICHLAND, Wash.-- Over one hundred people ran in a 5k race Saturday in Richland benefiting fire victims.

Runners ran from Badger Mountain Community Park and along Keene Trail. Participants were encouraged to donate whatever amount of money they felt comfortable with, which will go to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund for the Taylor Bridge Fire.

"Great for the community to step up. IT takes them a minute to realize what we have and what we take for granted each and every day. If one of use lost our house, we would be left with nothing. The red Cross really steps up and helps out with that," says Katy Clawson, race organizer.

The race raised over twenty-five hundred dollars for the relief fund.
