Walk to End Alzheimer's

Posted: Updated:

Yakima, WASH.--People walked to end Alzheimer's Sunday at Sarg Hubbard Park in Yakima.

The Walk To End is held annually nationwide with the intention of raising awareness and money for Alzheimers care and research so that one day we might find a cure.

KNDU/KNDO NBC news anchors Meredith Boggs and Shane Edinger walked Sunday, along side other staffers and members of the community.

The Hunter family walked for their husband and father, Chris Hunter.

The family said,"It's my biggest hope and desire that we can help make a difference. It's going to be to late for Chris. He's past the point of being helped, but it's not to late to make a difference for other families like us."

The walk in Yakima raised around $20,000 for the Alzheimer's Association.
