Americans enter season with high expectations

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Tri-City Americans continue to prepare for their season opener against the Spokane Chiefs. That's Saturday at Toyota Center. New players are learning what the veterans already know, the high expectations for every game. Last year the Americans had a tough playoff run that ended in a four-game series loss in the conference finals.

" There's a lot of new faces this year and everyone needs to buy into the system of what the coach wants, and I think we've done that so far and we'll just keep growing," defenseman Zach Yuen said.

"Our expectations are always to win, every single game. That's that's just the way we approach things. Of course we know that's not always possible. But for a season wise its always to be US Division Champions. For the game perspective its to win every game," head coach Jim Hiller added.
