CWU running back Johri Fogerson faces a third degree assault charge

Posted: Updated:

ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- A Central Washington University running back faces a third degree assault charge. King County Superior Court confirmed the charge against Johri Fogerson. The police report shows a 15-year-old accused Fogerson of fracturing his jaw at O'Dea High School in July.

Court documents say the boy was singing along to a rap song that used the 'N' word several times. Fogerson asked him to stop and punched him.

Head coach Blaine Bennett says Fogerson will play Saturday and will consider any discipline after the September 26 arraignment. This is the second time in two years Fogerson has faced legal issues.
