Americans establish leadership for upcoming season

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Tri-City Americans open the regular season Saturday at home against rival Spokane. The Americans have the rest of their lettermen set after naming Justin Feser captain earlier in the off-season. Zach Yuen and Jesse Mychan will wear the alternate captain "A." Mitch Topping and Connor Rankin will rotate the third "A." The Americans have a good core of veterans who are established leaders on the team.

"We have a good veteran presence. The older guys are helping out the younger guys figure out their way. The younger guys are listening and are open to learning," Yuen said.

"It's gone on and on. When you have a successful team like we have, the leaders really learn a lot. It's important for them to win. You don't win as many games as we have without people that enjoy winning that learn to win. They carry on that tradition," head coach Jim Hiller added.
