KENNEWICK, Wash. - It's your chance to make a lifelong difference for a vulnerable child, and become a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for abused and neglected children.

The Benton-Franklin CASA/GAL Program trains community volunteers to advocate for the children in Juvenile Court. As a CASA, you would investigate the child's history, advocate for services and appropriate placement, and ultimately make recommendations to a judge in the child's best interest.

The next training session will be on Friday October 5th, Friday October 19th and Friday October 27th. Training each day is 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and attendance all three days is required. Training sessions are free.

To volunteer for the program with this training session, you must sign up by September 27th to allow time for the application process, background check and interview. If you're chosen from the applicants, the program will provide specifics about the training session.

To apply, call Tikva Glantz, at (509) 783-2151, extension 2456. You can also email her at
