Guts and Glory Dash gives to local charities

KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Around four hundred people made it out to the first annual Guts and Glory Dash Saturday in Kennewick.

A challenging and dirty three mile course was set up at the Benton County Fairgrounds for the runners.

The Richland Firefighters Community Outreach Program organized the event.

All the registration money goes to local charities like the ARC of Tri-Cities, the Down Syndrome Association of the Mid-Columbia and the Richland Firefighters Outreach.

"An outlet for charitable organizations that we hold hear and dear to our heart. Now this is going to allow us to have some fun and also put a bunch of money back into the community," says Keith Ramsay.

Runners were challenged by a series of ten obstacles that ranged from barriers, to logs and ditches. Organizers hope this fun event will raise awareness for the benefiting organizations.
