KGH to operate on hospital phone system

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.-Kennewick General Hospital says patients can expect little if any inconvenience Tuesday night when the hospital upgrades its telephone system.

But if you call the hospital between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday, the wait could be slightly longer. The upgrade work will limit the lines available.

For one 15-minute period, if you call the hospital, all you will get is a busy signal.

A hospital spokeswoman says if you get the busy signal, wait 15 minutes and try again.

If it's an emergency, call 911 or go to the emergency room.

The hospital says it will provide admitted patients cell phones if they want to make a call during the upgrade work.
