Mobile Lab Works with Local Doctors

RICHLAND, Wash.

A state of the art mobile lab is helping keep local doctor's skills sharp.

The 75-foot-long Arthrocare lab includes cadaver stations where doctors can train with cutting edge technology and take part in demonstrations and procedures.

The lab focuses on sports medicine and orthopaedic medicine, and allows doctors to learn hands on without having to travel too far.

"It's actually a lot more personable. You get more personal attention and you get your own cadaver. That's unusual. You can actually utilize that to learn and perfect your techniques better," said Dr. Gordon Hsieh.

The bus stopped at Northwest Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine on Monday, but makes about two stops a week. It's worth about $1.5 million.
