PULLMAN, Wash. -

Yes, Washington State lost to Oregon State. Yes, Connor Halliday threw three interceptions in the loss, but the sophomore signal caller will remain the starter, Mike Leach said Monday.

Leach said senior Jeff Tuel may still see some playing time this season. But Halliday is "the guy" for the present and the future.

"He has been playing the best until he threw three interceptions, and we're at the point in the season where we have to invest the reps in somebody, and so we just need to make a choice," said Leach. "He just needs more reps and more experience and learn from the experience, really.

How Halliday will bounce back from the loss to Oregon State will be telling. The Cougars host California this weekend in a game televised on Pac-12 Networks. Kickoff time is set for Saturday 7:30 p.m. (PT).
