DermaCare offers free skin care analysis

RICHLAND, Wash. - A medical spa in the Tri-Cities is now offering customers a free analysis of their skin.

DermaCare, located in Richland, uses a photography machine known as Visia to show customer's skin in the present and future. The service allows users to see if their current skin care is effective or if they need to make changes.

"With Visia, we can see damage that hasn't surfaced yet. We can see damage your eyes don't see and kind of open your eyes and scare you a little bit," said Dr. Sidney Smith, a dermatologist at DermaCare.

The photos give customers an unbiased point of view on how their skin is currently doing.

"This will give you an objective opinion compared to other people your same age, same race, your same skin type and see how you compare in certain categories versus them," Smith said.

It also allows users to see if they need to make skin care changes to help their skin in the future.

"(You can see) how your skin would gradually become in about seven to ten years. We're able to see how the spots are getting darker and fine lines are becoming a little bit deeper wrinkles," said Alyssa Headley, an aesthetician at DermaCare.

The DermaCare team will be offering free analyses at the Women's Expo, located at the TRAC in Pasco, on October 12 and 13.
