16 marching bands to compete in Harvest Festival

YAKIMA, Wash. - The Harvest Marching Band Festival is coming up this weekend. On October 20th, sixteen high school marching bands from Washington and Oregon will be competing.

More than 5000 spectators are expected to come out to see 3000 musicians at the Zaepfel Stadium on 40th and Tieton Drive in Yakima.

Each band will perform at ten minute show including wind and percussion musicians, flag teams, rifle quads, and dance teams. The top 12 bands will advance to the finals.

The 12th annual competition is one of the biggest in the region. Most of the bands are returning from past years. Eisenhower and Davis High Schools will perform in exhibition as the hosts of the festival.

The Harvest Marching Band Festival Organization is a partnership of the Band Boosters of both Davis and Eisenhower High Schools.

It is sponsored by Abbott's Printing, Educational Service District 105, Manhasset Music Specialty Company, Ted Brown Music, the Yakima Lions Club and others.
