HILLYARD, Wash. -

Art is an ambiguous and subjective term. So, a group of fanatics in Hillyard is out to prove beauty and virtue exist far beyond the galleries.

It is the medium that lends color to a community – a civic signature every city proudly puts on display. Its singular appeal is often defined by its own diversity. And for that reason, the interpretation of art can never be covered by a single stroke. The exhibit of that sentiment is no more evident than in a back yard smack dab in the center of Hillyard.

"This is the oldest art form in the world," explained Jesse Lawson, a wrestler who goes by the name Mad Man. "The Roman Greeks started it before we were even around."

Lawson is the founder of Spokane Anarchy Wrestling.

Every Sunday afternoon in the ring, every move is carefully choreographed so every head-butt, clothesline and elbow drop is delivered for the sole purpose of entertaining the people.

"It creates an experience, it creates memories for people to come here – you know, you bring your family here to watch a show. People here who don't have any other wrestling thing they can go see can come here for free – a place for their kids to run around while they're watching some great wrestling matches," said one of the wrestlers.
