Walla Walla trying to "Reel" in Hollywood Studios

WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- Walla Walla is trying to make a big name for itself by going to Hollywood., or at least bringing Hollywood to Eastern Washington.

A brand new film office just opened inside the Walla Walla Valley Chamber of Commerce building to be run by the President and CEO David Woolson. The goal is improve the economy by showcasing the town's talented artists and to allow movies, shows and commercials to be shot there.

Woolsen is a former entertainment attorney who worked for Paramount Pictures in Los Angles. He has the experience to work with movie and TV executives to make logistics for projects easier. They'll help studios with street closure and permits and anything else they may need to make a project flow more smoothly.

Damien Sinnott, the Vice President of Policy and Business Development says Walla Walla has a lot to offer. "If you're making a film about historic america, we have that in abundance, if you're doing a western film, we obviously have that in abundance. we have the outdoors. we're just letting them know what we have in the valley," said Sinnott.

They already managed to book their first project. Producers from the AMC's Cable Network will be holding an open casting call for their new reality show called "Road Show." It will be at the Powerhouse Theater on October 23rd. The show is about looking for big talent in a small town. It's from 2-6pm on 111 N. 6th Avenue
