Top Northwest marching bands compete

Yakima, WASH.--Thousands of musicians gathered on Zaepfel Stadium Saturday to compete in the 12th Annual Harvest Marching Band Festival.

16 high school bands from the Northwest got ten minutes to perform for the judges.

Not only did they play music, but bands also performed with choreographed dance teams and color guard squads.

Students said they practice five days a week, and even occasionally come in on weekends.

"We work very hard to be the best, and it just takes a lot of work to get there but we definitely get to that point," said Morgan Clair, a student at Naches Valley High School.

The final competition started Saturday at 6 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m.

Shortly after, awards will be announced and there will be a fireworks show.

The event is hosted by Eisenhower and Davis high schools.
