JM Eagle Plant Restarts in Sunnyside

Posted: Updated:

SUNNYSIDE, Wash.-- Two years after shutting down production, the JM Eagle plant in Sunnyside is up and running again.

The company produces plastic pipes for things like irrigation and natural gas.

The company closed down the plant a few years ago because it made the same kind of pipes as another plant in McNary.

Now, the plant is making new polyethylene pipes, and will put about 35 workers from the Sunnyside area back to work.

"It was very beneficial for the whole area, for my employees especially. It's just so thankful to have everything back where we're a viable entity again, back on the market," says Sunnyside Plant Manager Stan Romig.

They held a ceremony outside the building today, bringing in the company's president as well as local and state lawmakers like Congressman Doc Hastings.

The company is currently filling their job openings through WorkSource.
