CDA and Lake City Advance to the 5A State Tournament

Coeur d'Alene, IDAHO - Coeur d'Alene and Lake City have advanced to the 5A football state tournament after earning wins in the first ever play-in game for the IEL.

Number one seed Coeur d'Alene made quick work of number four seed Lewiston. The Vikings scored 21 points in the first half, and went on to beat the Bengals 34-7.

Gunnar Amos threw for two touchdowns and ran for two in the win for CDA.

Lake City advanced to the state tourney after knocking off Post Falls 19-7.

The Timberwolves scored all 19 points in the first half thanks to three rushing touchdowns. As a team they rushed for 241 yards in the win.

Lake City will hit the road to take on Eagle and Coeur d'Alene will host Rocky Mountain next week in the Idaho 5A State Quarterfinals.
