KENNEWICK, Wash.-- It's not snowing outside but there was snow on Cascade Street in Downtown Kennewick Friday. It's all for the 1st Annual Ski and Snowboard TC Throwdown Competition.
Friday afternoon farmed snow was brought in to set up for the night's events.
Fifteen professional snowboarders will show off their skills on a course of ramps between Kennewick Avenue and 1st Street.
"Skiers and snowboarders know now to have a good time and that's what this event is really about. It's not really about the best trick. It's about people having fun and enjoying ski and snow board enthusiasts, enjoying that atmosphere," said Eric Schultheiss, event promoter.
An amateur competition happened in the afternoon and at 8pm the pros will ride. Also, lots of snow gear is being given away to event goers.
